About Us
The idea of putting on a big tap event in Stockholm is something all three of us have had for some time now. Larsa organized a festival a few years back and thought of doing another one now that he is getting back into tap again. Jonas and Andrew had also been talking about such an event and started with putting on a workshop together at Swedish Swing Society two years ago. Realizing over the summer 2009 that each of us shared a similar vision for a festival like this, the planning began...From the beginning of this project, we all felt that it was important to create the right feeling for the festival. Beyond the hours of training in class, this event will also be a place for us to all get together and exchange ideas and inspiration with each other. Student, teacher or guest, the involvement and contribution from each of us is what is going to make this a great experience.
The festival of 2010 and 2011 became both a success and soon it's time for the 3rd edition of Stockholm Tap Festival. We're keeping all the good stuff but improving and adding to give you an even more exciting event.
See you in April 2012!

I began dancing at eight years old and it quickly became my biggest interest. First dancing Swedish bugg, I soon switched to lindy hop which was much more fun. Dancing lindy hop also exposed me to other Afro-American dances including charleston and tap. When I didn't have a competition or performance, I spent all my time training. After finishing school I moved to Stockholm and studied at Ballet Academy and 2006 I graduated and now work professionally as a freelance dancer/teacher. Tap has more and more become my favorite form of dance and recently I founded House of Hoofing, working with tap in all shapes and forms to get people in Sweden more interested and educated about tap dance. I cant even begin to say how much I'm longing for this festival and really hope to see you there!

I grew up in Dalarna in the middle of Sweden. As a little boy I was often watching movie classics with my dad he liked western movies I did too but when there was an old MGM musical with Fred Astaire or Gene Kelly I was all excited. I didn't care for the story I just wanted to see the dance scenes. Later as a young lad I tried to find someone in my area that knew tap dancing but came up empty handed so I set off to America where I found my first teacher Charles Holbrook. I moved to Stockholm but continued making trips to America to learn tap. For a few years I stopped dancing to pursue my other career in the software field but started to dance again... couldn't stay away. I then found a new energy in tap dancing and in the people that I came across. /Larsa

I grew up California, and have now been living in Stockholm for nearly 6 years. I first started dancing with lindy hop about 11 years ago and picked up tap dancing soon after. Continuing with my passion for both lindy hop and tap, I began teaching at several locations around Stockholm and spending several years with a local performance team. The first festival in 2010 was such a great experience for me, and I am really looking forward to and even more exciting and more successful event this year. See you all there!
